The All Progressive Congress, (APC), candidate, Bello Abdu Danmusa has been declared winner of the rescheduled elections into Danmusa local government state assembly seat of Katsina state.
INEC returning officer, Rabiu Abdullahi Kofarbai declared Bello Abdu Danmusa of APC as winner of the rescheduled poll having polled 18, 436 to defeat six other candidates.
The APC candidate won with his closest rival, Nasiru Yau of the PDP trailing with 6,216 votes.
The INEC returning officer said six political parties fielded candidates for the rescheduled poll which was cancelled due to security concerns.
He gave votes polled by other political parties to consist APGA 88, PDM 597, while Labour Party and NCP polled one and zero votes respectively.
Our correspondent reports that the election was conducted in 10 of the 11 electoral wards of the local government and recorded low turnout with only 27,402 voters accredited out of the 68,904 that were registered.
