Two former gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of PDP in Katsina State,
Alhaji Kabir Barkiya and Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, have defected to APC. They were received at the governorship rally of APC’s candidate, Aminu Masari, by the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina on Thursday.
Other defectors included the former Military Governor of Borno, retired Col
Abdulmumini Aminu, eight serving members of the Katsina State House of
Assembly and two former commissioners, Nasidi Danladi and Aminu Jamo. Buhari thanked God for the success APC recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly elections on March 28.
He urged the electorate across the country to massively vote for APC
candidates during the forthcoming governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.
The President-elect assured that he would fulfill all promises he made during
the campaign. The APC governorship candidate, AlhajiAminu Masari, assured people of the state that he would improve the living condition of people if elected as governor of the state on April 11. Masari called on the party’s supporters
to continue to be law abiding during and after the elections for peaceful
coexistence in the state.
