APC Sets Up Committee On Youths Welfare

The National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday set up a committee that would liaise with the party’s leadership in all youth matters.
Inaugurating the committee in Abuja, National Youth Leader of the party, Mr Dasuki Jalo, said the youth wing would evolve better and more inclusive governance where every youth would be a proud and committed stakeholder.
Jalo explained that the composition of the 13-member committee was seven leaders and a member each from the six geopolitical zones.
The committee is expected to negotiate on all matters on behalf of the youth of the party and report from time to time, their activities to Jalo in order to effectively champion the interest of the youths.
Jalo charged the committee to be focused as they would be confronted with complex and emotive issues while strong views would be expressed by many people.
The committee, therefore, will engage in intense introspection about the challenges confronting our youth and to chart the best and most acceptable way for the resolution of such challenges in the overall collective interest of all Nigerian youths.
I urge the members of the committee to work extra hard to ensure that their deliberations are completed well ahead of the forthcoming handover of power to the President-elect,’’ he said.
Responding, chairman of the committee, Sobande Sesan, pledged that the members will be sincere with genuine commitment of the leadership of APC.
We ll pursue the course of action that will involve all segments of Nigerian youths and build the Nigerian project of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, and bring the change that we all want to achieve.
We promised to effectively discharge our responsibilities as the youth wing of the governing party and there is a need for us to reposition ourselves for the overall benefit of all Nigerians, he said. (NAN)
