It Won’t Be Business As Usual In Katsina, Masari Vows

Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, yesterday pledged to reposition the state, assuring that the change they yearned for had come. He added that the new APC leadership would ensure a radical break from the past noting that “it is no longer business as usual.”
Addressing a gathering shortly after taking the oath of office, Masari said the APC administration under his watch would “be prudent, accountable, transparent and will be guided by the rule of law” even as he urged people to be prepared to make sacrifices.
Governor Masari and his deputy, Mannir Yakubu, took the oath of office at a well-attended inauguration which took place at the 35,000-seater capacity Karkanda Stadium. The Katsina State chief Judge, Justice Yusuf Abdullahi administered the oath which was followed by inspection of parades.
Masari who admitted that the challenges ahead are enormous, insisted that the time is ripe for a new approach and mindset to issues of governance.
He lauded the people of the state and indeed all Nigerians for demonstrating their commitment to ensuring an enduring democracy through their actions in the last elections. He stress that “through the elections, Nigerians have demonstrated their wisdom in judging people who govern them.”
Masari listed the priority areas of his administration to include agriculture, education, water supply and health. He assured that in few days to come, the people of the state would begin to witness radical changes for the better.
“My mission is to restore Katsina State to those glorious days where education and agriculture were the pride of our people,” he said, adding that “we will work even harder to uphold the trust of the people.
