May 29: No Rift With Jonathan’s Team, Says Buhari’s Committee

The Transition Committee of the incoming government of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari yesterday denied having any rift with that of the federal government in carrying out its assignment.
Head of the incoming administration’s committee, , stated this after his committee met with that of the federal government chaired by Vice President Namadi Sambo at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Dispelling the claim that the presidency had refused to cooperate with his committee to ensure a smooth transition, Joda explained that the two committees were operating on the same page, and that his team was getting all the necessary cooperation from the outgoing government.
“Our committee has never said to anybody that there is no cooperation. We have never said that and we are waiting for the reports until when they come”, he said.
On his part, the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim, described yesterday’s meeting between the two committees as “fruitful and cordial”.
He corroborated Joda’s position that there was no contending issue between the two committees as claimed by certain persons.
“The meeting was very, very fruitful; it was very cordial. There is certainly no (contending) issue; we are flowing and we have clearer understanding of the working of the two committees,” Anyim noted.
