Mother With 40-Day Old Baby Treks For Buhari

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, seem to have begun a trekking revolution in Nigeria as the number of trekkers showing solidarity for his victory in the presidential election keep swelling by the day.
The latest trekker to identify with Buhari, is Mrs. Alice Daniel, a 35-year old nursing mother, who began her journey from Minna to Abuja to fulfill a promise she made before the election.
In an exclusive interview with Newsline, Mrs. Daniel, who is a mother of five, said her husband, Abdulwasiu, predicted correctly, that President Goodluck Jonathan, will lose the presidential polls.
She said she had countered her husband’s prediction, arguing that, it would not be possible for an incumbent president to loss to an opposition candidatecandidat
Mrs.Daniel, who was at that time heavily pregnant, promised that if Buhari should win the election, she would trek from Minna to Abuja to personally congratulate him.
The female trekker, who hails from Niger State, revealed that she was almost stopped by her family members and friends, but she had already made up her mind to fulfill the promise she had made. She commenced the journey at about 6:00am on Sunday, from Chanchaga bridge.
When asked about the health implications of her journey on her and the baby, who is just 40-days old, she expressed optimism that, nothing would happen to her and the toddler as she is fully focused on completing her mission.
According to her, if she arrives the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, she will head straight to Buhari’s campaign office to personally congratulate him. She also stated that she intends to walk between 6:00am to 5:00pm daily and rest at intervals.
Meanwhile, it is not only the winners of elections that are getting solidarity walks. Losers are also getting sympathy walks as Kaduna State Governor, Muktar Yero, who lost the governorship poll also has a group of trekkers having solidarity walk for him
