EFCC Quizzes 4 Katsina Government Officials Over Financial Transactions

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has invited four top officials of Katsina State government for questioning over some financial transactions.
An invitation letter signed by Aminudeen Muhammad on behalf of chairman, addressed to the Secretary to Katsina State Government but obtained by our correspondent indicated that the officials will appear before the anti graft agency today and tommorrow (Wednesday and Thursday)
The affected officials are the state accountant general, permanent secretary for ministry of agriculture, his Works counterpart, and the General Manager of Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency (KASROMA).
According to the invitation letter, the officials are directed to appear before the EFCC with documents detailing financial transactions in their respective ministries and departments.
Specifically, the Katsina state accountant general who is billed to appear on today, is directed to appear with statutory budget of the state from 2011-2015 and details of all allocation made to the state from the federation account from 2011 to May 2015.
He is also to present details of all allocations made to the 34 local governments in the state from the the federation account from 2011 to May 2015 and, fund releases made to KASAROMA, Ministries of works, agric and sports from 2011 to May 2015.
The KASAROMA Boss, and, permanent secretaries of agric and works are scheduled to appear before the agency tommorow and, are directed to appear with records of all contracts awarded, yearly budget, actual fund releases and actual expenditure from 2011-2015.
The two page letter states that the “commission is investigating a case in which the need to obtain certain clarification” from the officials is imperative.
