The Katsina State Government on Friday warned local government chairmen against disposing assets of their councils without due clearance from the state government.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Alhaji Lawal Aliyu, made available to newsmen on Friday in Katsina.
‘’Report reaching the government indicated that some local governments are indiscriminately disposing assets of their local governments without due clearance from the state government.
‘’All local government chairmen are hereby directed to stop such acts, henceforth, or face appropriate sanction,’’ it said.
The statement similarly advised beneficiaries of such illegal transactions to return the properties to the affected local governments.
