SHEMA'S ADC COLLECTED 680M AS SECURITY SUPPORT- KATSINA STATE LG PANEL

Former ADC to Governor Shema, DSP Shehu Mohammed Koko has been fingered in an alleged N680 million  financial dealings by an investigative panel constituted by Katsina state government on diversion of Local government/SURE-P funds to the state ALGON accounts.
According to a letter written by the state Governor Aminu Masari and read at the floor of the state house of assembly by Speaker Aliyu Muduru the said money was given to the former ADC in cash in the name of 'Security Support' by ALGON chairman.
The Speaker told the house that various questionable payments were made into the ALGON accounts between January 2014 - May 2015 amounting to about 7.6 billion naira.

He said the panel quizzed the Permanent Secretary and Assistant Director ministry of Finance and some ALGON officials where they were asked to provide evidence of approval of such transactions but were not able to do so.
"The only document tendered were from ALGON chairman in respect of drugs purchased and distributed to local governments to the tune of 765 million naira," he said.
"The state government is already taking measures and wish to notify the house on the issue for consideration," he added.
It could be recalled that last week the state government un-freezed the accounts after it has uncovered several questionable financial dealings amounting to about 1.7 billion naira.
