Why Criminal Activities Persist – Governor Masari

Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari has linked the prevalence of criminal activities, including the raging insurgency in North eastern part of the country, to lack of education among the youth.
Speaking in Funtua, at a reception organised in his honour by the Class of 1964 of Government College Funtua, Masari insisted that only functional education would provide the youth opportunity to be responsible and responsive.
Governor Masari reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to restore the state’s lost glory in education stressing that the state will continue to trail its peers in the country if the terrible state of education is not quickly reversed.
He lamented the level of decay in the education sector in the state insisting that the level of work to be done to successfully rehabilitate education was enormous.
“It is by no means insurmountable provided there is the right attitude from the drivers of state policy and all relevant stakeholders” he said, assuring that he would put in all the necessary machinery to reposition the education sector.
