Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at a book launch in Kaduna, yesterday, announced a pledge of N500,000 on behalf of the president with a promise that if the president fails to pay, he would personally bear the responsibility of redeeming the pledge.
In his personal capacity however, he bought 10 copies of the book for N1 million, just as the former governor of the old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, kicked-started the launch, saying, “I am launching the books with what you will call my widow’s mite of N100,000”.
The book titled: ‘Islamic Studies for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools’ was organised by Bashir Sambo Centre for Islamic Da’awah in memory of late Justice Bashir Sambo, former Judge of the Sharia Court of Appeal and the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The event was in collaboration with Jaiz Charity and Development Foundation.
