Ibrahim Shema
Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari yesterday commenced probe into the administration of the immediate past governor, Ibrahim Shema, with the constitution of four committees.
They are expected to investigate what transpired in the state between 2011 and 2015.
The committees include that of State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), state Road Maintenance Agency (KASAROMA), Millennium Development Goals/ SURE-P, and that of Girl Child Education and Child Development. It was gathered that misappropriation of funds running into billions of naira were uncovered by the APC transition committee.
Masari said the probe was informed by the present administration’s desire to establish institutions that will outlive officials. He urged the committees to execute their duties without fear or favour.
The term of reference for the committees include; ascertaining location and status of projects executed between 2011-2015, to determine whether or not funds earmarked for the said projects were judiciously allocated, determine whether or not financial and administrative operational guidelines were adhered to in the execution of the projects and to advise government on the way forward
