 A total of 6,000 members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, August 19, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Report says the decamped persons were led to the ruling party by a former mandate secretary, area council services secretariat, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Yahaya Alhassan Gwagwa.

Gwagwa was a PDP Chieftain in the FCT.

According to statement issued by the coordinator of Yahaya Gwagwa Restore AMAC group, Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, Gwagwa and his 6, 000 supporters were welcomed to the APC by party executives at his ward office.Gwagwa urged his followers to support APC in the forthcoming area council elections, stating that “Mr. President cannot be a tenant in his land.”

The statement said, “Hon. Gwagwa moved from his former party, PDP, to APC to lend his support for the present administration as he finds integrity, honesty and competency on the president,” adding that Gwagwa stated his readiness to work with the APC “as he believes that the present administration would lead the country and FCT to the promised land.” source:pulse
