Governor Masari to Re-allocate Retrieved Houses, Others to Katsina Indigenes

Katsina State government’s Committee on Sale of Government Properties has urged the government to revoke allocations of houses and in some instances, sale of government properties by the immediate past administration of former Governor Ibrahim Shema. The committtee recommended the immediate withdrawal of all allocations of houses and properties made by the immediate past administration. The committee maintained that the allocations were not done in accordance with extant rules and regulations. It called for the review of allocations on its own merit, stressing that those not deserving should be revoked. “Retrieved houses in Abuja should be re-allocated to Katsina indigenes living in Abuja as civil servants or working in the private sector, while those in Katsina should be allocated to deserving public servants and members of the public based on an equitable formula”, it said. Other recommendations included that the Katsina City Mall and Dubai International Market, all   constructed by the past administration, be rented or leased out and not sold. It noted that doing so will ensure that the state does not lose ownership of the property. “Government must also reclaim all its plots of lands at Kaduna that were either encroached upon or revoked”, it added.
