Governor Masari to Spend Recover Funds on education and other critical areas.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has debunked media reports that the APC administration in the state has started probing the past administration of PDP under Ibrahim Shema. The governor revealed this during a meeting with selected Katsina state elites, led by Galadiman Katsina, the district head of Malumfashi. Masari said the present administration was only tracing the funds allocated to the state within the period of and its application. According to Masari the state would take a drastic action on how the funds were spent, disclosing that the funds could be used for a four-year plan on education and other critical areas. The governor maintained that the state elites and other stakeholders would be contacted before arriving at a conclusion of probing past administration. He spoke extensively on the serious decay of infrastructure as it affects education, health, agriculture and water supply among others. Masari further said the state got N996 billion within eight years under the past administration, but the critical areas of education, health and others suffered serious retardation. Earlier, Justice Mamman Nasir noted that over the years, Katsina state has been holding enviable positions with the history providing great leaders. He pointed out that Katsina people have inherited the culture of courage, stability and peaceful co-existence, as well implore Governor Masari to give priority to Agriculture so as to improve on the economy of the people of Katsina state. Nasir also highlighted the relevance of traditional institutions in tackling security challenges bedevilling the state and other parts of the north.
