Leadership Newspaper Stood By Opposition in Moments of Need - Gov Masari

Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has applauded Leadership Newspapers Group for standing by the opposition in its most trying moments in the history of the nation. Speaking when he received in audience the management staff of the newspaper, Governor Masari said Leadership Newspaper stood by the opposition when people were running away and never thought the opposition would clinch power. He tasked media practitioners to always be guided by ethical journalism even as he stressed the need for the media to step up the watch dog role. "Beyond supporting the clamour for change, the media most not rest on its oars in ensuring constant monitoring of leaders so that Nigerians can get the much desired change," he said. He expressed optimism that the media would continue to support the task of building a virile Nigeria. The governor also lauded the chairman of Leadership Newspapers, Sam Nda Isaiah "for consistently standing up to the truth even when the country has given up." Source:Leadership
