The National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) led by Senator Abu Ibrahim has kicked-off a one-week leadership training for its coordinators drawn from the states.
Senator Ibrahim, who is the chairman of the board of trustees of the group, said the aim of the training was to help build effective leadership capacity among members of the group ahead of the next general elections.
Represented by Zakari Aliu, the senator said the training, which would have presenters from various fields, would help in spreading the message of the successes recorded by President Muhammadu Buhari in the last three years.
He said the state coordinators would in turn train their members when they got back home, saying the populace needed to be kept abreast on the successes of the government in power in order to trust it with their mandate once again.
In his presentation, a Professor of Economics from the Nasarawa State University, Uche Uwaleke, who spoke on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari, told the state coordinators that N108bn had been saved from the removal of maintenance fees payable to banks before the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
He said the APC- led government had received “high performance rating in the management of the nation’s economy, even as the government has continued to save up to N24.7bn monthly as a result of the TSA policy.”
He further said the Federal Government had expended over N1.2tn on capital/infrastructure projects nationwide, a development he said was an “unprecedented milestone in the history of Nigeria.
Professor Uwaleke said President Buhari needed to be commended for the N-Power Volunteer Scheme which had created jobs for over 200,000 unemployed graduates in all the 36 states and the FCT.
