Buhari Appoints Otegbayo As UCH’s New Chief Medical Director

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo as the new Chief Medical Director of Nigeria’s number one health institution, the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

PMParrot can reveal that his job will start on March 1, 2019 for what a source said is “for a renewable first term of four years”.

Prof Otegbayo, a Gastronologist and an Honorary Consultant at the UCH was a former CMAC at the hospital and the first founding CMD of Sierra Leone’s only tertiary hospital.

He was born on December 17, 1961 and hails from Ilesa in Osun State. He is blessed with two children. His wife, Dr (Mrs) Bolanle Otegbayo, works at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State.

Those who have had access to the comprehensive CV of this scholar have not stopped talking about how intimidatingly comprehensive it is.

Said one of his close friends “Professor Otegbayo has written so many books and papers to the extent that anybody who wishes to enumerate will need a lot of space. But we are happy that we have a round peg in a round hole in UCH.”

Otegbayo replaces Professor Temitope Alonge, a surgeon and trauma specialist. He ran two terms.
