FCT: Do not lose hope – Wike tells residents as he flags off Kwaita-Yebu road

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has flagged off the reconstruction of the 25km Kwaita-Yebu road in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

The flag-off event, which took place at the project site in Kwaita, attracted a mammoth crowd of residents of Kwaita who came out to witness the event.

Speaking, Wike urged FCT residents to have hope in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who, he said, has come to renew the lost hope of all Nigerians.

“All of you have lost hope as far as this road is concerned. You never believed that any government would come back to this road because of the disappointments you had before. That is why Mr President said he wants to bring back the hope that you have lost. By the grace of God, that hope is back,” he said.

He also assured the residents that the road project would be completed, as with all projects initiated by the FCTA, adding that the FCTA would not embark on projects it would not complete.

Wike, who also assured of the availability of funds for the road project, directed the contractor to ensure the delivery of the project in 12 months, as opposed to the 18 months originally stated for the completion of the project, adding that funds would be made available.

“We will fund you because I have seen the importance of this road to the people and we must not disappoint them. So, my message to you is, do not lose hope. By next year, by the special grace of God, we will be here to commission this project,” he said.
